If I was white and rich I'd have a better shot of understanding just what Romney is saying here

. . . actually I do understand - all too well - the depth of ignorance and bigotry in this statement of his, made in a separate video under the same account of the whistleblowing 'fundraiser' who 'leaked' the others to MoJones.

"My dad, as you probably, know was the governor of Michigan and was the head of a car company. But he was born in Mexico ... and, uh, had he been born of, uh, Mexican parents, I'd have a better shot at winning this," Romney said. "But he was unfortunately born to Americans living in Mexico. ... I mean I say that jokingly, but it would be helpful to be Latino."

In a separate video, Romney talks about his success. "Both my dad and [wife] Ann's dad did quite well in their lives. But when they came to the end of their lives and passed along the inheritance to Ann and me, we both decided to give it all away. So I have inherited nothing. Everything that Ann and I have, we earned the old-fashioned way."

Romney's parents did pay for his boarding school, his college, his graduate school and his first home.

He got closer to the truth in another clip. "There's a perception that all of you were born with a silver spoon. You know, you never had to earn anything and so forth," Romney said to the donors. "Frankly, I was born with a silver spoon, which is the greatest gift you can have -- which is to get born in America."

This isn't something coming from Romney that's brand new. This is old-fashioned racism, pure and simple. It's the type practiced and performed among a tiny percentage of Americans who make up our wealthy elite class.

It's like the time I overheard a senior supervisor in the company where I work griping that the workers thought they were 'entitled to something,' as if he just had refused to make the connection between their poorly-compensated labor and his relative wealth. Romney is so insulated by his wealth that he's likely never heard a word of dissent or complaint about these painfully offensive statements of his from any of his peers or friends.

Evident in his doubling-down on his incredibly obtuse dismissal of the value and worth of folks who don't happen to share his affinity for enriching such a tiny percentage of Americans with the manipulated beneficence of our tax system is a cultural and social blind side which has convinced him that there's enough folks out there who think they're as entitled as he believes he is to propel him into the White House.

The more his handlers allow Mitt-to-be-Mitt, the more his elitist, prep
school bully side is revealed . . . the more he seems to be directly channeling Gordon Gekko in the film, 'Wall Street.' How long till he just loses it and just lays it all down for us little people?

Gekko:

"I am not a destroyer of companies. I am a liberator of them! The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms: greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind."

"And greed, you mark my words, will not only save (this company), but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much."

"The richest one percent of this country owns half our country's wealth, five trillion dollars. One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons – and what I do, stock and real estate speculation. It's bullshit. You got ninety percent of the American public out there with little or no net worth. I create nothing. I own. We make the rules, pal. The news, war, peace, famine, upheaval, the price per paper clip. We pick that rabbit out of the hat while everybody sits out there wondering how the hell we did it. Now, you're not naive enough to think we're living in a democracy, are you, buddy? It's the free market . . ."

How long before that speech, Romney, bastard?
