(5,693 posts)That he was just speaking to his audience, telling them what they want to hear. I can't decide which is worse: A heartless plutocrat, or an empty vessel, mirroring its surroundings like a chameleon. FWIW, I believe he is both. He may well be a 'good guy' in his immediate surroundings, like friends and family, but that's the extent of his ability to empathize.

Yah, that'll win the independents over.

(9,854 posts)that Romney was running from the hard right, but would govern from the center. Both Tweety and the other reporter on the show laughed in his face over that, basically saying that if that were the case his own party would revolt against him.

(41,987 posts)This is why the exclusive, back room, country club days should be long gone, so that "businessmen" can't get together and decide the fates of people without their knowledge.
So help me, this thing plays like a Sopranos episode, the heads of the families meeting and talking about the mooks they're bilking.

(21,020 posts)by going on about how it was an "off the cuff" statement and he didn't realize the mike was on, blah blah blah.
So what we got was what he really thinks about that subject.
Of course, that doesn't mean a bit to the same people who voted for GWB in spite of the fact that he said things that were just as stupid...and right out in the open, too.
I, for one, cannot wait to see the Presidential debates...

(5,842 posts)where Garrett asked Romney whether people should be concerned that he may be telling his financial supporters one thing and the public something different?
Sounds like Ehrlich just proved Garrett's point beyond a doubt.

The 1% has always despised the ordinary citizenry but it has finally been said out in the open.
