Romney is referring to a report that said 43% of FULL TIME EMPLOYEES don't pay FEDERAL INCOME TAXES.

It should be an indictment of wage earnings in America, and instead, the corporate controlled media turned it into an indictment of the working poor.

I can tell you the operative paragraph was on page four, paragraph one of the report (as printed by whatever intermag linked to it) but I can NOT, for the life of me, find the report.

Anyway, I am positive of those two facts...the report is of the WORKING POOR and FEDERAL INCOME TAXES. That got turned into "43% or 47% (wow. just. wow) of Americans pay no taxes"

Which would make them the biggest parasites of all.

Speaking of which, Mr. Romney, I heard a rumor that you didn't pay income taxes for 10 years.

So when are you going to show us 10 years worth of your tax returns?

But they are a day late and a dollar short. Too many people have heard the original comments.

I had to keep. qualifying. what the report said as opposed to what Rush and Hannity *said* it said.

I love that THEY are the ones trying to make the distinction now. Hehehehe

You can find the 2009 data here.

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-soi/09in11si.xls

Shows they received 141,494,000 individual federal income tax returns ... of which only 81,890,000 were taxable.

Ie. 141494000 minus 81890000 = 59604000 individual tax returns - after deductions, credits etc. - had no taxable income and got back at least all of their federal income taxes withheld

59604000 divided by 141494000 = 42.12%

I have read that the 2010 IRS data shows this number rose to 47%. But the data are not on the IRS website yet.
