I'm thinking he is being self deprecating.

But, it could mean that he is on our side.

hmmm

It's probably the former.
Of course his manner in being self deprecating isn't exactly helping the repubs.

The Romney team was probably begging for Clint to do the convention. Although Clint is a republican he's more of an old school republican that really is just about smaller government but he supports things like choice and marriage equality.

I'm guessing after the Romney team refused to take Clint's umpteenth 'not interested', Clint decided to go out there and make a mockery of the convention.

Remember it was the GOP that gave Eastwood shit when Eastwood did that series of Super Bowl commericials for Chrysler and talked about how America Auto industry was rebounding.

He's old school like Arlen Spector. Clint would be a part of the party of Abraham Lincoln moreso than 99% of the republicans out there today.

Clint's performance was wretched at the convention so wretched you either thought that the dementia was kicking in or Clint was secretly doing a bigass 'fuck you' to the GOP.

Did anyone see SNL's take on Clint Eastwood? Bill Hader does a great Clint Eastwood imitation. It's was basically an add for a tour of 'Clint Eastwood and the Chair'. They had Clint talking to empty chairs of Jimmy Carter, Michael Bloomberg and Chris Christie (we're gonna need a bigger chair).

But he has no reputation as an impromptu speaker. Conventions are supposed to show off political acumen with speaking and staging. The Romney campaign is pure amateur hour.

My impression of that performance was that he was parodying the Republican Party, but they were just too dumb to get it. I figured after that speech, Clint went home, had a beer, and laughed it up. I hope I'm right.

The guy is a life-long Republican, and I bet he does sympathize with a lot of their current candidates. He's just kind of a weird guy though. I don't think he went out there to do what they wanted, but just to do whatever he wanted, no matter what other people thought about it; sort of like "High Plains Drifter."

Always will as an actor and one of the best directors in file history. His intent at the RNC? I can't say. Obviously I strongly disagreed with him. But somehow, I didn't get as bent out of shape as others did.
There are some interesting ideas here. He is NOT a coward, never has been. He has always taken chances with his films, always put creativity and risk above all, and the results are clear. So whatever he did at the RNC.. humm. maybe he was parodying them. He is a man, in my opinion, of utmost character and honesty. BTW I watched Sudden Impact last night. :&gt

To see if Clint Eastwood is there.

The meme is basically making it look as if Mr. Eastwood is tougher than Mr. Norris but politically the same could be said too. I believe Mr. Eastwood is old school Republican. Mr. Norris? Nope.

i think he may have went there to get wingnuts to watch his movies again because many of them were against him for stuff like same sex marriage and some message in his films they consider to be liberal.

just look at that whole speech or act he did. he never gave a reason to support romney. and then he brings up how Obama supported the war in Afghanistan ? and didn't close down gitmo ? if you cared about those issues why would you support romney. the only reference he gave to romney was when he had invisible obama say to him "go f yourself".

he might vote romney but it's more because of tradition. but i don't think he really cares who wins in the end.
