The article doesn't say. For the past three and a half years, I have been, for the first time in my life, embarrassed to be an American, and ashamed of my country. The United States of America has now become an international pariah. That's why the European Union won't let us in. That's what that loathsome orange con man in the White House has done to us. I can't wait for Nov. 3. I wish we could vote now, today.

That said, the 76% of Republicans (@24% of voters) feeling proud is typical RW lie. Their leaders tell them to say that. Yesterday Trump recited a resentful list of ways the world (characterized as "radical Democrats" ) thinks badly of them. And it wasn't news to them.

They know they're a minority at war with most Americans and can't win national elections honestly. They hate the liberal values of individualism and egalitarianism our nation was founded on because the equality and freedom are for all Americans, not mostly them. They're are having a major meltdown over the reality that someday whites will ONLY be slightly more numerous than every other race put together. They want to destroy our democracy out of spite and rejection and impose their beliefs on the America they despise.

They've been shouting their pride and patriotism the entire time they've been marching off the cliff.

As for the Democrats, our nation reflects 250 years of liberal values that are our legacy to the world, and many big advances in the long struggle for equality have been made by us in our lifetimes as it speeds up.

Too many of those who don't even know what they should be proud of probably helped elect Trump and have a great deal to be ashamed of and a great deal to undo.
