The candidate with the lowest likeability rating of any Presidential candidate in decades, it's at about 26 percent to 30 percent, proves he's an even more horrible person than previously let on. Even his staff doesn't like him.

(116,464 posts)No one really expects Mitt Romney to win Massachusetts, but two new polls show him getting crushed in the state he once served as governor.
A Western New England University poll finds that President Obama is now ahead of Romney, 60% to 38%, among likely voters.
A Suffolk University poll shows Obama leading by a 64% to 31% margin.

Romney's unfavorable rating soars via a 15-point swing: Favorable 31 (36), Unfavorable 60 (50)
A survey by the Western New England University Polling Institute through a partnership with The Republican and MassLive.com revealed that Obama is now edging Romney, 64-32 percent, among registered voters and by 22 points, 60-38 percent, among likely voters.
In late May, the last time the university conducted a political poll, Obama led with registered voters 56-34 percent. At the time, likely voters weren't distinguished since the November election was more than five months away.
<...>
Obama's present favorable/unfavorable ranking is 64-29 among registered voters compared to 57-33 percent in May. Romney's ratio, on the other hand, is now 31-60 percent compared to 36-50 percent in May.
Additionally, the president's job approval rating has grown to 60 percent among registered voters in Massachusetts, compared to 54 percent in May. His positive job approval number among likely voters is 57 percent, the poll concluded.

President Obama continues to hold a clear lead over Mitt Romney in Virginia, a new Washington Post poll shows, buoyed by enthusiastic support rivaling what he marshaled in 2008 to snap the Democrats four-decade losing streak in the state.
Likely voters in the commonwealth favor Obama 52 percent to 44 percent. Among all voters, the president is up 50 percent to 43 percent, identical to his margin in a survey in early May.

(116,464 posts)(CNN) Just 49 days out from Election Day, a new poll in swing state New Hampshire released Tuesday shows President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney in a statistical tie among registered voters in the state.
The American Research Group poll shows 48% favoring Obama and 46% favoring Romney. The president's advantage falls within the poll's sampling error.
<...>
The poll also shows 49% approving and 44% disapproving of the way Obama is handling his job as president while 41% approve and 46% disapprove of the way he is handling the economy.
A WMUR Granite State Poll taken last week of likely voters (note the ARG poll today is of registered voters) after the Democratic National Convention also showed the pair in a statistical tie in the state with 45% favoring Obama and 40% supporting Romney with a sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points.

The percentage of voters believing that the country is better off since Barack Obama became president jumped seven points after the two political conventions, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
Thirty-eight percent of registered voters now say the nation is better off, which is up from 31 percent in the August NBC/WSJ poll conducted before the conventions.
Still, a plurality of voters -- 41 percent -- believe the country is worse off, while 21 percent think it's in the same place.
<...>
The new NBC/WSJ poll asks a separate question: Which candidate -- Obama or Mitt Romney -- is better prepared to lead the country four years from now? On this question, 47 percent of voters pick the president, while 36 percent choose Romney.

(116,464 posts)President Obama leads Republican nominee Mitt Romney by 9 points in a new poll of Pennsylvania from Muhlenburg College. Obama gets 50 percent of likely voters to Romney's 41, and Pennsylvanians approve of the job the president is doing by a 47 approve/44 disapprove split. Romney struggles on his personal rating in the state, with 40 percent of voters saying they have a positive view of him and 48 percent having a negative one. From the Morning Call:
While state Republicans have insisted that their internal polls show the race in the state much tighter, independent polls have consistently showed Obama with a solid lead for months and the Romney campaign is not spending any money on television in Pennsylvania. Neither candidate has visited Pennsylvania in more than a month.
"Its pretty clear when you aggregate the polls that have been done so far that Obama is well positioned in the state. Combine that with the limited presence that Gov. Romney and PACs that support him have had in the state and it really does make the case that as of now its not in play in a way that it usually is," said Chris Borick, Muhlenberg pollster.

Fueled by increased optimism about the economy and nations direction, President Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney by 5 points among likely voters and now sees his job-approval rating reaching the 50 percent threshold for the first time since March, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
The survey which was conducted after the two party conventions and the political firestorm over last weeks U.S. embassy attacks, but before Romneys controversial comments about the 47 percent of the country who are dependent on government shows the percentages believing that the country is headed in the right direction and thinking that the economy will improve at their highest levels since 2009.
<...>
Among a wider sample of registered voters, the presidents lead is 6 points, 50 percent to 44 percent up from Obamas 4-point edge last month, 48 percent to 44 percent.
<...>
Forty-two percent of voters also believe the economy will improve in the next 12 months, which is a 6-point jump from August, and a 15-point rise from July.
Whats more, 47 percent of registered voters approve of the presidents handling of the economy up 3 points from last month. Obamas overall job-approval rating stands at 50 percent for the first time since March.
