He jumped on this right away, closed bars, restaurants, gyms, salons, stores, etc. back in the second week of March. At the time there were only 41 cases in the state, but he saw what was coming.
Knock on wood, deaths and hospitalizations have been dropping for a couple of weeks. And today was the first day since March that we haven't had a death and only 83 people are hospitalized.
Yesterday he delayed the next phase for at least a few weeks (bars were due to open next week)
It was also his idea last week for the "big three" (NJ, NY, and CT) to close the state to travelers from a dozen or so states, adding three more today.
For perspective, there are 3.6 million people in Connecticut.
Let's hope they don't reopen too fast as many other states have done.

(11,296 posts)much if not more credit. Maybe the RI Gov too.
The Trump lovers criticized Lamont for the way he handled the virus, on the day the national map showed CT as the only state colored in green, in other words, they criticized him for being the best.
Figures, they applaud the guy who's the worst.
