overview on Anderson Coopers show
Haberman really diminished the actions of trump and his family implying it is nothing new
Rachel and Suzanne Craig exposed just how bad the actions of the whole trump family are. In my view it is a bombshell, and why trump is doing everything to stop the book, and arguing that the SC should not allow release of his tax returns
If those tax returns are what the book lays out are valid, trump should be going to jail, and why it is becoming clear that trump will not go easy if he loses the election

(14,532 posts)Nancy Haberman, Maggies mother, works for the PR firm, Rubenstein
But the Rubenstein firms ties and access to the Trump administration dont stop with the Trumps. JARED KUSHNER is another high-profile Rubenstein client. And Jareds relationship with Howard appears far more intimate.
So, Maggie Haberman has a powerful parent, whos connected to all the inside dirt on Donald Trump, his family, his business, Jared Kushner, Jareds family, Jareds business, and Nancy is paid to spin all this dirt into PR gold. Wed call that access.
But Maggies job is JOURNALISM, not PR. Journalistic objectivity requires detachment. It requires cold, hard facts. The kind of PR Maggie would have to do for real estate developers connected to the mafia, and/or sons who visit fathers in the federal penitentiary, is not the best look for the NYTimes arguably the worlds most prestigious journalism brand. But it is the PR relationships that give Maggie her access. And if she doesnt do the bidding of the spin masters the bidding of their clients, she loses her access to them.

Right message, wrong messenger: NYTs Peter Baker decries the normalization of Trumps presidency
Dan Froomkin
PressWatchers.org, June 20, 2020
In Fridays New York Times, the papers White House bureau chief, Peter Baker, tut-tutted the normalization of Donald Trumps presidency as if he himself, along with his colleagues, werent among the people most responsible for it.
Snip...
I try hard not to take strong positions on public issues even in private For me, its easier to stay out of the fray if I never make up my mind, even in the privacy of the kitchen or the voting booth, that one candidate is better than another, that one side is right and the other wrong.

I am sorry to have posted a falsehood, Cha. I misheard someone on MSNBC say Haberman and Baker were married.

(297,289 posts)I knew nothing about Baker and have just read a lot on Twitter & DU, and Haberman's own words to know what she's about.
Some times Maggie seems to call out trump but Not enough.
Sounds like from this article that Baker talks out of both sides of his mouth. This is from June 20th. wonder how he's feeling about how "normal" trump is now?

But with Haberman I can see someone who thinks Fox is too extreme seeing her and being convinced things aren't so bad with Trump.

(90,714 posts)Funny how different people get different things from these reports. As of yesterday, snippets were out, and there was a whole thread of folks kvetching that we already knew all this stuff, & if there wasnt more than that, why bother publishing this book now?
Now we know why.

Mary Trump has hard evidence from the lawyers office that she gave to Suzanne Craig

(3,245 posts)than what she probably really knows, but that is just my observation.
What I found most impressive was how Rachel broke down how Ms. Trump is planning on defending her decision to violate the NDA and that her and her family were essentially victims of fraud committed by the rest of the Trump family was very compelling.
And it now appears that she has the receipts to prove it.
