Full headline: Trudeau led his country out of a pandemic while Trump's lack of leadership leaves the US in deep crisis

For months, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's hair kept growing.

As the coronavirus pandemic kept barbershops closed to customers, his tidy trim grew into a wave that evolved eventually into a mop with bangs. For some, the mane came to embody the shared sacrifices that Trudeau -- quarantined at his home in Ottawa -- was asking fellow Canadians to endure to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Things progressed differently 450 miles south in Washington.

President Donald Trump's hair has appeared unchanged during the crisis as he makes no attempt to model the guidelines and recommendations his government is recommending to stay safe -- including wearing a mask, avoiding large crowds and limiting travel to essential business only.

On Wednesday, the differences in the two approaches will be front and center as Trump marks the official beginning of the new North American trade agreement that is a signature achievement for all three participating governments: the United States, Mexico and Canada.

While Mexico's President accepted Trump's invitation to participate in the ceremony, Trudeau did not.

3. In Canada we are certainly in a far better position

but we are not out of it yet. I fear too many people think we are and are dropping their caution. Our city is now looking at mandating masks because too many people are acting like it is over.

are still concerned about Covid (58%), an increase of 7% in just 2 weeks, only 11% of Canadians want the border to open at the end of July as Canadians have become more concerned about the increasing cases in the U.S.

Canadians' COVID-19 fears are rising again — and the U.S. might be to blame

"As the number of new cases of COVID-19 being reported daily in Canada has declined over time, Canadians' concerns about the spread of the disease have spiked.

The uncontrolled outbreak south of the border might be the reason why.

Nevertheless, Canadians are feeling more worried today, according to a recent poll.

The survey, conducted by Léger for the Association for Canadian Studies between July 3 and 5, found that 58 per cent of respondents were personally afraid of contracting COVID-19. That figure has increased seven percentage points in two weeks and is now the highest it has been in Léger's weekly polling since mid-April."

We definitely do not want the border opened. I wear a mask more now than in the early months because so many more people are out and about without masks. My friend and her husband just were tested positive and they have been really careful but it is in their condo building. He has diabetes and is high risk. Touch wood, no symptoms yet but it is early days. Just before that happened my friend told me she saw US license plates in their parking garage. I am not saying that is where it started but is a coincidence? Sorry nothing against Americans but we do not want you here right now, until you can get rid of the clown in the WH and can get control of the virus. Too many people are saying they are travelling through to Alaska but instead are vacationing. Many people are now reporting them to RCMP and Border Services.

with U.S. plates in B.C and in Alberta and it has turned out the vehicles belong to Canadians who work across the border and need to register their vehicles there. Responding to the legitimate frustrations by vandalism is certainly not the way to behave, imo, and is unacceptable.

10. No that is not the way to handle anything

That is why the RCMP have advised to report the vehicles so they can check it out to find out if it is legitimate or not. Unfortunately many US tourists are making it tough on others. Too many ignoring the risks. 1200 US tourists already reported in Banff and many on Vancouver Island, camping and staying in motels.

for crossing the border. It's always the few who create havoc for the rest unfortunately.

Illinois is surrounded by dumb, redneck states: Wisconsin (with their Taliban state supreme court), Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Iowa. We're fucked.
