You know what, Mitt? The government does have a responsibility to care for the people.

What the fuck else is a government for?

Seriously. If not that, then what? What, in your wisdom, should a government be doing? Who SHOULD it be caring for? You, maybe?

I have run out of scorn!

that '....we're in the process of DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THAT, TOO.' Meaning...we have plans to change or do away with the New Deal basis for safety nets. Chilling quote.

It's time for the P Obama team to put together another killer commercial replaying all the callous, chilling, cold quotes from republicans and from Romney about safety nets, employment, health care, etc. It would be a long commercial, but it's time now to easily connect Romney with the sociopathy that's rampant in the gop and corporations.

The cat's out of the bag...they are running with it and so should we.

What Romney wants is to take over government and give it the Bain treatment.

This is a VERY important point you make.

not for the vast polluters, the poisoners of our food and environment, the thieves of savings and homes, the wagers of wars.

All who benefit financially from the above should be paying massively into the public welfare fund.

Poverty is a destabilizing force that must be efficiently countered. We really don't have any other sensible and prudent choice. The school lunch program was initiated in the mid 40's because so many of the young men who came to sign up were undernourished and many were rejected because of this. It was a tragic loss for the war effort. Educating our young people to be productive members of society is essential to a resilient economy and a peaceful society.

Well, who knew I'd find a soap box here in your thread, Plaid Adder? I think we all understand how detrimental extreme structural poverty is to our social fabric. Having struggling working classes wastes so much potential that we need to move forward, as well. When the middles classes suffer and shrink the country suffers. One would think that these greedy money hounds could figure that out.

So I guess that means that these friends of Willard are rapacious, prosperity killing traitors to America and American values. They are like a plague of locusts. They cannot stop of their own accord.
