6-3 votes in favor of forcing the Madman to release his financials.
All four liberals, Roberts, and the big surprise is Gorsuch, who authors the main opinion.
Beer Boy, Coke Can and Scalia Jr. dissent.
No reason or rationale for this; Im just locking in my bet.
Catch you in a few hours.

(32,017 posts)I would guess a 5-4 decision in favor of releasing the taxes with Roberts joining the liberals and Kagan writing the majority opinion, but it is always foolish to predict the SCOTUS (even if its fun, and I cant help it).

(5,648 posts)I don't see how they can ignore clear law that the House can get the president's tax returns, FFS. Pisses me off.

Not that it will stop me from demanding we expand it and impose term limits.

(11,885 posts)He'll bypass them in a heartbeat with more corruption, and if he is protected we'll see criminals lining up to run. It would also show trump got to them and corrupted the outcome by bribes, threats, or blackmail. Wonder how many times he's tried to call or contact Roberts on this case? Could a judge who was called or contacted and someone (trump) tried to corrupt the outcome, wouldn't that justice be required by law to recuse from the case, or be impeached ?

(15,751 posts)Some may hope, that exposing the taxes will be the 'big knockout' blow - it may not be, like Mueller, manafort, flynn, etc.
Today, being at a more vulnerable time for trump, may 'grease the skids' though.

I don't expect them to do what's right.

(9,213 posts)With Roberts writing the decision to put the control of the Judiciary firmly in his hand. This is truly his legacy decision.
