be flushed down the memory hole, never to be mentioned again. Trump will go back to Mar-a-Lago, he will never be held accountable for anything, he will never be prosecuted. It will be the same old shit all over again: "We have to look forward, not backwards."

then despite Trump technically losing the case, not getting his tax returns would be a blow to us. The good news is that Trump is losing bigly anyway for a huge variety of other reasons. It's not going to matter to most voters whether Trump's tax returns make an appearance before the election or not.

At least the SC ruled that the President doesn't have total immunity, as Trump has insisted.

if the Supreme Court would've order it. He would've simply refuse to comply with the order to release his tax returns and the republican Senate would've done nothing about it.
