can he still be taken to court of these issues that SCOTUS ruled on, today?
I'm sure they will do everything they can to delay it until after the election, but he should have to cooperate if the lower court(s) agree with SCOTUS, right? POTUS, or not?

(1,990 posts)That if he is not POTUS, Congress's legal reason for wanting them would be moot. I think NY's State case of tax fraud would be unaffected.

Agree that NY State will go after him.

(4,845 posts)And we won't have a DOJ that serves as Trump's personal lawyer to prevent the IRS from handing it over.

(16,254 posts)It is our turn to win and expose Trump for what he truly is. Mary T. is a big help, but we need auditors to untangle Trump's financial jungle and nail him. When he evades taxes, the rest of us pay the bills for the country. He has no right to keep his wealth through cheating while others are hungry and suffering.
Somewhere along the way, he has to know that his father led him astray. Just look at the million$ they made in the process, at our expense.

(15,135 posts)State of New York - Vance - has issues that has nothing to do with the office of the presidency.
If there are any federal crimes that might be unearthed, the a new DOJ could pursue them.

Pointed out, big time, by Mary Trumps new book and NY Times 2017 story.

(853 posts)When he is no longer president their oversight rationale will end, but they could turn it all over to the new SDNY prosecutor.

(16,254 posts)so, with the climate of COVID and evidence presented to the Grand Jury, maybe he has run out of luck and even the toughest MAGAt won't bail him out.
Maybe Congress needs to hurry and remove Barr. He is probably his last hope.

(32,698 posts)No one is above the law. AG Barr looks to be out of arguments.
Frustratedlady
(16,254 posts)Why didn't the Democrats chase that to the courts for a ruling. Just because Barr was the AG doesn't make it real and it didn't even sound logical. When no one did anything, I assumed I was wrong in my thinking. Now, I find I was right.

(11,949 posts)There has to be a real world situation. And then it takes a while to reach the supremes.
This case was in the works before Barr came on the scene.
