Why are churches allowed to be open??

Not only are the ones near me fully open, the parking lots are full! This is in Southern California, by the way! And we wonder why there's a spike in COVID cases? CLOSE. THE. DAMN. CHURCHES!! And keep them closed until this nightmare pandemic is over.

And in case any conservatives want to spin this, we are not canceling religion. You are still free to worship as you see fit. Just don't do it in person in large groups or even small groups right now.

They were holding summer camp. The parking lot was completely full. Hundreds of people going in and out of the church, not a single mask among them. And now we're wondering why there's spikes in cases? Argh.

You can hold video or outdoor parking lot Sunday services. We've done it in March and we can keep doing it.

My aunt and cousin forceful invited themselves to visit our house last Saturday. Even though my parents and I were against it. We just couldn't say no. They brought with them 2 children under the age of 3. Some people just think COVID is not a thing.

I cannot wait to see and hear the data concerning the super spreader youth event held recently in Phoenix at a church, whose claim that their air conditioning system would kill 99.9% of the airborne virus.

I can't believe that they actually believe that air conditioning could kill the virus. What a bunch of buffoons.

And the latest Treasurer's report shows that we're meeting our annual budget quite handily. Yeah, I miss seeing my church family in person, but a lot of us geezers are in vulnerable populations (often more than one), and none of us wants to see any of us get sick.

Why other congregations refuse to do that is beyond me.

on month ago. Masks are required anywhere on the church campus. Only 3 to 4 people depending on the length of the pew.

Even despite the fact that there's *supposed* to be a separation between Church & State. They get all of these allowances for stuff that they shouldn't be getting. It's mystifying that their desire for in-person Church services actually trumps public health concerns.

Especially during these horrific times that we live in right now. But I would think that public health concerns would take precedent over having in person services.

The bad thing is this is going to keep spreading the virus, and that can't be good.

but I think that public health concerns have got to take precedence here. Most people I know whom are religious have been totally fine for the most with attending services virtually.

Some tiny Protestant thing about 150 yards away, catholic church about 5 blocks away and Presbyterian 6 blocks away.
We have to go by two to hit the grocery store we usually go to (and the pharmacy) and the other going to the other supermarket.
At the Catholic & Presbyterian churches, I see essentially everyone coming & going wearing a mask.
The other little one, maybe 2 in 3.
But, there are probably under 30 total in the building.
I don't know what they do inside.
If I go in, the whole building would burst into flames.

And they can do zoom break out groups of 3 people to make it easier to talk after.

Money they can use paypal or Venmo.

All the hugging and sitting close is what's spreading it.
