The ripple effect of the virus...

Like everyone else we have been sheltering in place for months now. But this also being allergy season here in Austin; myself, my GF and my dog have all been having bad cases.

My dog especially.

We had gotten him an allergy shot but it only lasted for so long.

We just called Petsmart/Banfield and our regular Vet was no longer there.

Why?

Because so many people are sick in San Antonio, that there weren't enough vets.

So our Vet went down there (with a well deserved bump for battle pay).

We will still get our pet in with a different vet, but it's just one more thing that this f'ing virus has effected in society.

our dog was due for his exam and shots at the end of April. The vet’s office was on an emergency only basis at first, then curbside only which meant they came out and got your dog and took it inside while you waited in the car. This would not work with my dog who is terrified of the vet and just about everyone else. I have to medicate him, then hold all 70 pounds of him while they do the exam. Finally, after a long conversation with the vet, who has been our vet for over twenty years and a family friend for close to fifty years, I got him in for his exam this week. We were all masked, but with me assisting the assistant while the vet did the exam and shots, we were all a little closer than I like for a few minutes. I am crossing my fingers that we will all continue to be well.
