I pointed out that:
A. Warren Buffett is 9 million years old. This is now a moot point.
B. If Capitalism was a human being, it would diagnosed as a Psychopath.

(33,345 posts)Remember Balancing the Budget? The Deficit? The Debt? Sequestration? When the GOP pretended to give a shit about any of that?
An actual intelligent Businessperson who tried to honestly address that issue would do exactly what any intelligent Pol would do: raise marginal tax rates to increase revenue, and cut the DoD's budget - hard.
And then they'd be kicked out of office at the end of their 1st term.

(15,307 posts)And yet I've been taught forever (since the 1950s) that capitalism is the savior of the world.
We should worship making money.
The marketplace will level the playing field. The wealth will trickle down.
The rich just played their cards better - not that they got dealt a far better hand.
I hope we all start to realize this has been a ruse. Yes there are some good people who are rich. But there are many, many more good people who struggle.
It's not the luck of the draw. It's the favoritism of the dealer.

Perhaps its a sad commentary on the ability of the republican party to get decent, well versed candidates on all things government-wise, and having the ability to reach out and make constructive compromises.
