Where can I find stats and info on Covid spread? Simply searching is just overwhelming!

I am trying to find some specific info about COVID and how it spreads statistically.

Somewhere recently (probably here) I had read that if the number of infected hits just 1% of the total population, it is then uncontrollable without shut-down measures of some kind.

Trying to find that specific info or something like it for a Board of Supervisors meeting this afternoon. Trying to back up locals asking for a re-think about opening up our tourist economy since we are now the highest rate of infection in the county.

Any links would be appreciated! I am just overwhelmed as to where to look!

the percentage of positive cases in a population and how to contain once it hits a certain point.

We're dealing with a community that is "small" about 20K residents....however there is a HUGE amount of tourists and travelers from ALL over..(so many out of state plates it's scary)
we have been almost doubling for the last 3 weeks, now over 140 cases, the highest in our county. The health dept says we have high community transmission now.

If we hit 220-250 cases, that's 1% of our "local" population, asnd somewhere (was it Fauci? or the CDC) it was said if the population infected hits 1% then the ONLY way to stop spread is to go back to "shutdown" mode.

The board of Supervisors are meeting to discuss how to "enforce" bars etc.
The tourists need to stop coming!

About traveling...

The CDC has all guidelines to wear masks and stay 6' away from people...I can show you local bars and restaurants where people are packed together with NO masks

Even one of the local grocery stores is refusing to make employees cover etc...

... with past projections.

There's some easy to follow charts and maps too.

The R0 chart is for the whole country, but the states can be clicked for their data too.

It's not broken down by county or city. I'd look up local health departments for those details.

The map of the USA that's labeled "C19Pro Score: US Cases" is a quick way to see where outbreaks are occurring around the country. Deaths are a lagging indicator, so I don't look at that map so much. (Not to mention that some deaths are being attributed to other reasons like "pneumonia" in many states.)
