just another pathetic trump surrogate.
her 'guidance' is 'all schools should open'.
she won't say that if schools feel they can't safely open because of a flare up, they should remotely teach. WON'T SAY IT.
keeps repeating 'kids NEED to be back in school'
THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR KIDS. FUCK THESE CRETINS.

(2,698 posts)These schools, and hundreds like them, are all privately funded so the well-to-do parents of those children have the right to decide whether to allow the schools to reopen or not -- without government interference.
All of the other schools are publicly funded so the students and faculty and support staff in them all deserve to die!
It's all really very simple when you look at it like a Republican.

DeVos is a social, religious and economic conservative extremist who's worked for decades to END mandatory public education and its ungodly attempts to teach children to think. She's a passionately devoted true believer and activist.
She CAN'T tell America she wants to erase the middle class and turn us into a nation of servants of God and His wealthy ruling classes. And "god" help those who don't go along.
Training people to serve in God's Kingdom is the ONLY universal educational goal she believes in. Education for itself, beyond what is needed to serve God and business as workers, is unnecessary for most people and leads to problems. Not everyone needs to be trained in jobs skills, either, and there are many clues in her life to deeply ruthless attitudes toward those who don't fit her picture.
She is, naturally enough, also passionately opposed to allowing workers to empower themselves through organized labor.
Here's a sample of the sort of thing she's been up to in the past, from Mother Jones:
In a paper titled Americas Public Schools: Crisis and Cure, a former Acton advisory board member named Ronald Nash wrote, No real progress towards improving American education can occur as long as 90 percent of American children are being taught in government schools that ignore moral and religious beliefs. In November, Acton came under fire for an essay on its website whose original title was Bring Back Child Labor.
That's what she's after.

(73,605 posts)I find her more repulsive than most of the administration. She is an evil being.
Two days ago, I called the president of my school district's teachers union. In the past 12 years, we have had numerous opportunities to support each other on a variety of issues. We are a rural district, and the potential for re-opening is likely much safer than in urban districts. My son her age works in a city school as a crisis counselor, and it seems riskier for them to open. Still, even in a rural district, it presents serious problems.

She tells me they were told school is opening like normal!
And this is Illinois, where positivity rates is under 3, in a county where it's under 2.2.
So, obviously we've done most of the things pretty well.
Not sure they made the right call here.
However, I'm hearing different ideas for the other 9 districts in which I sub.
So, not sure what's accurate and what isn't.
