Googling, I see he lost and I see the race is still being decided.

until 7 days after the election because the post mark deadline is election day (June 23). They weren't allowed to start the count until June 30.

There were so many mail-in ballots and possible mail delays that the NYS BOE announced that they wouldn't begin counting the NYC ballots until July 8, excluding the Staten Island ballots which they began counting on July 5.

now that makes sense as to why there hasn't been a result. I had a theory Engel was going to pull a squeaker and I was looking for confirmation one way or the other
