Poor kids. This speaks to worker's rights and a bunch or stuffy government officials. And it's really cute. Michelle needs them for her "Let's Move" Campaign...

EL MONTE, Calif. (KTLA) -- The mayor of El Monte has called for an independent review to help decide the fate of the lifeguards who were fired after recording a spoof of the "Gangnam Style" music video.

The El Monte Aquatic Center employees say they were just having fun, but the video got 13 lifeguards and one pool manager fired.

The so-called "El Monte 14" went before a jam-packed City Council meeting on Tuesday night, appealing to keep their jobs.
"They did not do it to hurt the city or do anything, they were just having a good time after their summer job," said Laura Olvera, the mother of one of the lifeguards.

"They just told me I was getting fired, but I had no idea why," said lifeguard Jacob Sonorosa. "I was in the video but in the background."
