he'll want to brag that he did a better job of throwing than Dr. Fauci.

That's all this is about. He couldn't let Fauci grab all the attention for throwing out the pitch. Trump needs the attention. He jealous of Fauci and I would almost bet that he requested or demanded that he be given the honor of throwing out the pitch.

Now - I understand it will be done in an empty stadium. If it was a full stadium - I don't think Trump would have agreed to do this. He would be deathly afraid of being booed by the fans (not his fans).
