I live is southwest Texas...hurricanes aren't exactly an issue here...no water...years ago I got a frantic call from my sister who lived in Houston...they were experiencing the aftermath of a hurricane and winds were clocked at about 50 miles an hour...I remember saying "You're worried about that? Fifty mile an hour windspeed is a typical early spring day in El Paso"...

I knew a guy in technical sales from West Texas. He specialized in tertiary oil recovery products.
He said where he was from if the wind is blowing 15mph, they call it calm!

lipgloss is a no-no...it hangs in the air..sometimes the dust is so thick it shrouds the mountain...you can feel it and taste it..it gets in your hair, ears, and nose ..and when the winds are strong enough it knocks out power grids...

Coastal and inland, we are desperate for rain and hoping that Hanna doesn’t fizzle. Except Houston. Houston floods if someone sneezes hard.

Corpus may get mussed up a little from wind and a little storm surge, but it should be kind of a nothing storm. The hardest hit areas aren’t expecting more than 5-7 inches. We get that much rain in a good spring thunderstorm. If Hanna can beat out 70+ mph winds we got this spring, I’ll be shocked.

Draw a circle around Michigan and declare it a suburb of Houston.
Claim the big circle cloud a hoax.

Ask Barron what a hir-a-cane is.
