Profit - lives / political cost

We decided that tobacco industry profits were worth more than the 400,000 annual deaths from smoking.
We decided fossil fuel profits were more important than stopping the pollution that may just kill us all.
We decided that firearms profits are worth more than the lives lost in shootings.
We decided that health insurance profits are more important than the lives of people who can't afford it.

The economic impacts are going to be brutal and the Republicans are making everything worse.
