Some thoughts about the murder of George Floyd

As I understand it, Mr. Floyd was accused of passing a counterfeit $20 bill.
I have never seen a report which confirms that the bill in question was in fact counterfeit. That is something I would like to know.
If the bill was in fact counterfeit, I haven't seen any reports as to whether or not he had any more in his possession that day, nor any reports of an investigation into how he happened to have one. It seems to me that this is the kind of information which the Secret Service would desperately want to know.
Of course, even if he were guilty of knowingly passing counterfeit money, the punishment he received most emphatically did not fit the "crime".

They are keeping mum about it. I am sure a fake bill will be produced (whether it was the one passed or not).

What happened to that bill?
Public officials have been mum on the location of the alleged counterfeit, citing investigations and lawsuits.

A spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department referred a reporter to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The article almost answers two of my questions.
Was the bill truly counterfeit, and what happened to it.
I guess we'll have to wait for the outcome of the investigation, and then decide whether or it is credible.

Anytime a suspected counterfeit bill is passed, the routine is to call the police. Normally, they contact the person who passed it, if possible, to try to trace where it came from. Normally, the person passing the fake bill does not know that it is fake.

In this case, the shop owner knew George Floyd and has said that if he had been in the store, the cops never would have been called.

I have not seen any confirmation that the bill actually was counterfeit, just the allegation.

Being murdered by the police is not the lawful punishment for that.

bank (credit union) I took it to ran the bills through the machine and caught it. I thought all the cash in teller drawers was checked, but the manager said with Covid, the tellers were wearing gloves and the money feels different.

Anyway, the bill was sent to the CIA. You are not reimbursed automatically, but I was for various reasons.

I meant to file a police report but didn’t get around to it. I filed various reports with the bank who gave me the bill—fraud dept, etc.

But the bill was confiscated and sent to the CIA. (edit-with my name on the report! )
