But I still need to see how he behaves when there’s a Democrat in the White House.

I need to see a FULL conversion.

6. Mainly because I don't trust Republicans.

I can't help but suspect that the loudest voices - like Steve Schmidt's and Rick Wilson's and John Weaver's - they simply don't like trump. But they're likely still very much onboard with confort-the-already-comfortable (now, we're supposed to accommodate business lunches and "entertainment" too!), screw the poor, shove our brand of religion down everybody's throat, take away women's freedom of choice over their own bodies, send gays back to the closet after taking their rights away, cage children after separating them from their moms and dads just because they've come here hoping for a better life, compromise the sanctity of the vote so it's easier to cheat to win, cut back on environmental protection and preservation and unleash the polluters, back poor families into corners (if indeed they're not thrown out onto the street - because the rent moratorium was allowed to expire), free employers to blow off workers rights to jobs, decent pay, and basic employee rights, do away with all health care (DURING AN OUT-OF-CONTROL KILLER PANDEMIC, no less!!!), pack the courts with regressives and other 13th-century minds and "judges" that the ABA finds unfit for the bench, and they'd shoehorn in another Supreme Court justice on the night before the next Democrat's inauguration but denied President Obama's right to replace the dead Antonin Scalia with Merrick Garland roughly a year before the next election, do away with corporate accountability, food safety, drug safety, water safety, fire safety, auto safety, gun safety, road safety, decent air quality, ignore the accelerating threats to our planet (because I guess we can just go get ourselves another planet after we've ruined this one and it can no longer support life), let the police run wild with no accountability, screw African Americans, force a non-living wage on workers and do away any employee benefits and union protections and workers' rights, abolish Medicare and Social Security...

I could go on, but this is one helluva run-on sentence already!

But it's just trump they don't like. And they hate government - mainly, I think, because they're spoiled adult toddlers who'd rather stomp their little feet and holler "NO ONE IS THE BOSS OF ME!!!" Which always makes me wonder - "if you hate government so much, how come you want to run for government gigs?" I think the answer to that is - they simply want power. To excuse whatever they're doing and impose limits and restrictions on everybody else who's not like them. And because they yearn to turn the clock to the days when men were men and women were housewives whose "jobs" were to make babies and make dinner on time - or secretaries they could manipulate and pay next-to-nothing and confine them to life in the steno pool.

I don't trust the GOP. They tend to be for everything I'm against and they're against everything I'm for. I think it's just trump they don't like because he's making many of their cruel, cold-hearted, anti-social, anti-democracy, autocratic dreams come true but it's also making them look bad. I think they hope to find another Romney or somebody like him, who basically believes the same vile stuff, but sounds nicer and more human and more sympathetic and empathetic when it comes time to woo voters.

beyond hating Trump?

I don't need it expect them to become Dems.

This is a temporary alliance for both sides.

If they help get rid of Trump, that's more than enough for me.

8. I do. I hope we've all come to realize what happens when our government and our institutions

fall into the wrong hands.

And so far, we've had two republi-CON regimes in a row that tanked the economy and left the government in tatters that Democrats had to come in and clean up, repair, replace, and restore. And it looks like we're setting up to repeat that routine for a third consecutive time.

When we have a Democrat in the White House we'll see where he goes. Until then I unreservedly welcome his efforts to unseat Trump.

I'll GLADLY take the most imperfect Democrat over even the slickest-sounding republi-CON on the planet.

10. But we aren't being asked to choose between an imperfect Democrat and a slick GOPer.

We're just accepting the assistance of a slick GOPer to defeat a really evil GOPer on a behalf of an imperfect (as they all are) Democrat. I'm happy to have that assistance because we need all the help we can get.

13. Fortunately! But Biden is far from imperfect. Not pristinely perfect. but then again, nobody is.

But with this horrible time for our country, he seems like the perfect antidote to the blues. Honest, sincere, and sincerely eager to help. To console. To listen and sympathize. And give a damn. AND empathize, too. There's a difference. Joe Biden has known sorrow and pain and loss and punches to the gut. And he got up and soldiered on, muscling through it. He's walked the walk. Seems like there's NOBODY better into whom to risk putting one's trust right now. He's a warm fuzzy. A tall steady shoulder to cry on. I feel comfortable dropping my guard with this man, and trusting him. Because I've seen the track record of a good heart. Someone who's learned, evolved in his thinking, recognized and responded to changing times and policies - and needs. And realities. Ready also to recognize when he's made a mistake or a bad call, to admit it, and grow from it - even to remedy it. And take responsibility for it.

Sounds like the grownups would be back in charge if Biden wins. HAH. That's what cheney & company said when they stole the election from Al Gore. "The adults are back in charge" as the Clinton era drew to a close, they said. And then they proceeded to snooze through the warnings that 9/11 was coming because they wanted to start deregulating everything, launched an illegal war of aggression by invading a country that hadn't attacked us, tortured people, and wrecked the economy. And as usual with the GOP, the rich got richer and had a nice time, and their lucky sons and daughters evaded service to their country (or as Mitt Romney would say about his five healthy, strapping, vigorous and solidly civilian sons, they "served in the private sector&quot . And anybody not among the rich and privileged could go pound sand.
