In good times, communities of color still lag. In bad times, they get hit first and the hardest. And in recovery, they take the longest to bounce back.
We have to break the cycle, and Ive got a plan to do it:

This election is not just about voting against Donald Trump. Its about rising to this moment of crisis, understanding peoples struggle, and building a future worthy of their courage and ambition to overcome.
To support more Black and Brown small businesses, my administration will launch a new Small Business Opportunity Initiative. We're going to make sure that those with the best ideas are not denied the venture capital or financing they need because of their race or zip code.
My housing plan will give a $15,000 tax credit to first-time home-buyers, expand affordable housing, and reverse President Trumps efforts to gut fair housing enforcement.
We're going to remove the barriers to homeownership that hold back too many Americans of color.

(42,376 posts)He actually gave intelligent, thoughtful, detailed answers. He didn't once call a reporter nasty or criticize their questions.
He's going to be like a breath of fresh air.

(34,661 posts)did Mortgage Loans during the last F---d up 2006-2008,this would put a stop to NO-Doc Loans, which btw,are back with a vengeance . Had a program such as I described been in place, persons who had a chance to put even 15 k as a downer, well they would not have had to fudge the appraisals and play rebate games knowing full well if the Market went south, they would be upside down from day one.
Saw Contractors and Developers play the fudged number games just to dump their Inventories and skip town before sundown.

(38,601 posts)Still would like to incentivize regular payments. Its a good habit for first-time homeowners to get into.

(34,661 posts)in Minnesota we had first time buyer programs where Stipends with dollar values were applied at closing based on location of Properties. Certain Cities participated in this program in order to help prevent decay and blight. My Spouse and I took advantage of that program. We were able to sell our house to a couple that were first time buyers and use the script as a partial down payment on our next house which was in the same City but had more bedrooms. But,that program was screwed from day one by Wells Fargo(Norwest Bank) by their Red Lining and out right Discriminatory Lending Practices.
Do not recall the amount of discount we had to forgo in lieu of State and City Funds, but it was small as I recall.
