Federal officers have left WA, confirmed by @DHSgov .

Today, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan received confirmation that the Department of Homeland Security’s Border Patrol Tactical Unit has demobilized and left the Seattle area.

Last week, Gov. Jay Inslee and local officials expressed significant concerns regarding the deployment of an undetermined number of federal forces to Washington state, without the consultation or consent of state and local officials. On Friday, Durkan, King County Executive Dow Constantine, King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg and Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes delivered a letter to U.S. Attorney Brian Moran, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security seeking clarification on the intended scope of their potential actions in Seattle.

"This demobilization means Washingtonians no longer have to worry about the White House's aim to provoke confrontation and undermine peaceful protests," Inslee said. "Those peacefully protesting have raised the public's consciousness of the urgent need for racial justice, and I have no doubt they will continue to use their voices to call for action. We must continue making progress toward a better and more just Washington for everyone."

“The president’s actions to target and ‘dominate’ Democratic cities through the use of federal forces is chilling. It has increased violence in Portland, Seattle and other cities across the country, which was what the president intended. Policing decisions in Seattle should be made by Chief Best – not Donald Trump, and we can rest assured that they will be,” Durkan said. "We will continue to heed this moment in history and to work with the community to make systemic and generational changes to make Seattle more just."

Still ready for you, Lord Littlehands. Hey, maybe the Portland Pickles will ask you to throw out the first pitch on Bat Day. Wouldn't that be fun?

Stop gun violence, not place goons on the streets. She also said that if dotard goons were to show up on the streets as in Portland she would be in the courts the next day.

Dotard and his ilk are touting lies to make her look like a weak black woman mayor running a major dem city

at the direction of the president. And they're impossible, not just hard, to "get rid of" until and if a federal court orders them out for some violation of the law.

Blaming Democrats for Republican crimes is a huge part of what has gone wrong with our elections. Big no.

It was just not a good optic and maybe they already got the video they needed for the campaign ads. Portland protestors should move to a new location and leave the goons all dressed up with no place to go and nothing to do. By the way military jets flew over the Portland this afternoon, a testosterone gesture to make sure we know who is boss? We have heard them also at night sometimes.

Also, the mayor might just as well be a repuke. He’s backed the police chief who needs to be fired over instances of brutality. A very weak mayor for a great dem city

Tactical agents who have gone through extended application and training and by contract are not tied down to a specific location although 95% of the time they are assigned to their home PST.

Normal BP and Customs Officers are assigned to particular positions at particular posts and cannot be forcibly reassigned out of area. They do not have tactical training, weapons or equipment.

Guessing total BP tactical is about 500 agents maximum. Customs, ICE and others maybe another 500.

Usually the tactical agents have 2-3 days a month training with very infrequent actual engagement. Their most frequent use would be to back up local sheriff/police in an active fire or barricaded/hostage situation, perhaps 2-3 times a year.

BP also has another specially trained group BORSTAR for search and rescue for both migrants in distress and helping local communities for search and rescue.

Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Starbucks, etc., etc. I bet some heavy donors told Barr to back off for their safety. Having stock in most if not all of of these companies, Barr & 45 decided it was too dangerous for their pocketbooks if, say, Seattle burned.
