(just a little) because of the lag that happens when people are being interviewed via the internet - people step on each other without meaning to.

because he's so annoying. The other annoying thing he does that interjecting some sort of hip hop reference leaving his academic guests looking flustered and embarrassed that they don't know what he's talking about. He seems to target women over 50, like he's got an axe to grind.

He's like the over-eager neighborhood dad who wants to hang out with his teenage son and his friends and play guitar in their garage band, and they humor him because he lets them use his garage. If his son's band includes a black kid or two, he wants to do rap even if they don't.
