Speaker Pelosi: 'Sorry for Gohmert... but also sorry for my members'

Garrett Haake @GarrettHaake 6m
“Im so sorry for him,” @ tells me of reports @replouiegohmert tested positive for COVID. “But I’m also sorry my members, who are concerned, because he has been showing up at meetings without a mask and making a thing of it.”

Garrett Haake@GarrettHaake
“Hopefully now he will look after his health, and others’,” the speaker continues.

<snip>

"I would remind Mr. Jordan, Mr. Biggs and Mr. Johnson to stop violating the rules of the committee, to stop violating the safety of the members of the committee, to stop holding themselves out as not caring by refusing to wear their masks," Nadler said, referring to Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), and Mike Johnson (R-La.).

A member was heard asking Nadler in response if it is "permissible to drink a sip of coffee."

Nadler responded it is "not permissible."

When Republicans start acting like badly behaved adolescents, they should be forcibly removed. They have no right to infect others.

They still think this is no big deal when they know better, their lies are killing thousands. Maybe if one of their own dies they'll finally start listening to the medical experts.

On the one hand, riversedge, yes - I don't wish ill on anyone due to some sort of moral compass I suppose.
On the other hand, let's let Ohio Senator Rob Portman be a lesson in GOP empathy.
This senator was vehemently opposed to All Things Gay until his son came out. Subsequently, why yes; gay marriage is A-okay.
The point: these fuckers have zero empathy until it smacks them hard, personally.
Ergo, they WILL NOT GET IT until they - a family member, whatever - dies, or maybe ends up on a respirator for a month resulting in dementia, a stroke, something else sinister.

May be what it takes to get through to these anti masker republicans to mask up and take it seriously. They should not be allowed in committee rooms or hearings without one.

So he'll come out saying ignore trumpig and listen to Dr Fauci, maybe even "we can't afford 4 more years
of trumpig, vote for Joe Biden" That would be nice a repug promoting a Dem.

Everyone else seems to be able to abide by the rules, but not Jordan. He does it just to be a jerk. I think they should refuse to acknowledge him until he wears a jacket, the way Nadler did with the mask issue.

scene: Gohmert at the triage tent in Texas. There's not enough beds, so the docs have death panels to decide who gets treatment and who goes home to die. The very old: go home. The very stupid: go home, you're too dumb to save
