"Let's be clear: holding this election amid the coronavirus outbreak is dangerous, disregards the guidance of public health experts, and may very well prove deadly," he added. "For that reason, our campaign will not be engaged in any traditional GOTV efforts."

I'm not posting this to rip Bernie (I was a supporter during the Primaries). I'm posting this so that when it's trotted out by the Right to be used against us we have a canned response at the ready.

That State election date was not fixed by any law that could not easily be changed, in fact State and Local election days are frequently changed. That election also did not usher in an entirely new Executive Branch, delaying it would not have derailed any essential planning for the continuance of governing. The alternative that Republicans rejected was delaying that State Election so that people would have time to vote by mail. It is voting by mail that Trump is using as his pretext for suggesting illegally postponing the National Election.

Overall I think this Trump rabbit hole plays out negatively for him regardless. It reinforces that he has no constitutional moorings which adds to reasons why non Trump core base voters feel increasingly unsettled by him. It Trump takes on this Bernie quote directly that gives the media more room to explain how Trump is undermining the Constitution, as opposed to how numerous States legally moved their primary dates this year.

Also let THIS be a reminder to elect a Democratic Majority in the House & Senate in Nov.

That is where the power to end Trump's reign of terror lies. Should it take until Jan 2021, so be it. He cannot stop the Senate & House from being sworn in.

And that is how this finally ends.
He can contest a Biden election all day & night, but a Democratic Senate & House is still seated in Jan & Trump is stripped of his power.
