At least. The holidays are going to be a major downer for lots of people. By the time this is over probably one in three of us will have lost one to four relatives/friends/

I just realized there is another problem going on, at least in a part of SoCal where much of my family live. A relative is currently in the hospital with community spread MRSA, which is bacterial, and it's bad with infected organs, might not make it to Labor Day. Could have picked it up anywhere as they were homeless.

So many ways nature is hitting back at us. Wonder how long we'll last. Wonder how long I'll last. Like one of my friends, a cancer survivor, told me, "Hey, something's gotta kill me eventually".

Times like these, glad I have a safe place to be that's also pleasant.

Even nature doesn't want this monster around.

Like you I'm happy for this safe and comfortable spot.

Cherish it - and let's all spare a thought for all the folks who don't know where they're going to be living next week.

I think about it often since I was in that situation not so long ago. Makes me all the more thankful now.
