people by the police and the justice system ... combined with white privilege and there you have the total lack of any serious justice from beginning to end.

Even being aware of it, I have caught myself judging others by the cover of their book and not the content of their heart. I have made an effort to smile and say something pleasant to everyone. Still working on it.

(4,400 posts)It's the systemic white privilege and justice that was initially relied on by Caucasians to base all other judgments of others; whites have over the centuries of time in which it's been embedded, extended that to reflect the intolerance of all others who don't fit their ideas of their own personal idiotic pathology that they, as a group, "fit" the idea of their own perfection - they can be intelligent without education; innocent of crime without good choices, godly without caring; beautiful on the outside of their body without appreciation of beautiful character; harder-working without physical or mental labor and therefore entitled to the type of riches that no longer fit through the eye of a needle. You get the idea? They depend on the systemic privilege and justice they would withhold from "others" by virtue of intolerance and hatred of the difference in others in every other basic category by which one can discriminate: wealth, religion, gender identity and/or orientation, age, standard of health, beauty, intelligence, and exceptional talent.
Otherwise, I cannot put my finger on any specific set of criteria by which what appeared to our hopeful lifetime plan to achieve a peaceful, challengingly useful, and for the most part, free and balanced, circumstances at avoiding hunger, poverty, and overt discriminations about our own strange journey in life which, of course, is not yet at an end - it's just harder to achieve outwardly...but a change is gonna come to walk that mile in others' moccasins--inwardly, to eliminate the systemic blight of privilege and injustice. It has to!
