Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe unpleasant symptoms I'm seeing now in trying to navigate around DU since the recent
update are as follows: I run WIN7 Home Premium and use Firefox for my browser...
1. I keep DU open in two tabs. In one tab i keep Latest Threads open. I use the other tab to access
My Posts and The Lounge.
2. Using the Latest Threads tab results in difficulty with the normal "previous page" function and right
now the only way I can navigate that page is to open each op that I want to view in new tab, then
close it to go back to the Latest Threads page. That works but hey, it's not normal!
3. When I go to the tab where I access My Posts or The Lounge I experience no problems at all with
navigation...
None of this was happening before the recent DU and Firefox updates...
Go figure. I'm not a tech guy, I'm a tech user and can usually figger things out. I'm not done with this yet.

(31,261 posts)I am still not sure that it isnt my phone. I dont see navigation issues on other sites, but I do see what looks like dropped commands.

(21,972 posts)I'm getting the impression from these posts that something unexpected is happening when people try to use the back button -- is that the issue? (I'm not sure this is related to the new ad testing we're doing by the way, it sounds like something we'll have to get Elad to take a look at.)

(31,261 posts)post without being able to back out of the post that I had just read. By the time I close DU, I have a lot of open posts and OPs.
I got a new iPhone almost at the very time that I started having this issue on DU, my phone is one of the newest models where Apple added new features, but also set things up where opening and closing screens changed. I am still getting a feel for the new phone, that is why I cant say for sure that the issue with navigation is DU specific.
A few nights ago I came onto DU and the navigation arrows didnt show up. A DU member had posted a video in Twitter, I opened the video, watched it and then closed it. When I closed the video, the navigation arrows were present and worked until I closed my DU session.

(31,261 posts)and the few times I used one of my laptops to access DU, the same arrows. The arrows seem to be a feature of DU.
The next function on my phone only shows up when I am in Apple News. It allows me to read more of an article or move to the next news story.
Apple News, Yahoo News and Google News (the three news sources that I typically use) have back navigation arrows that allow me to back out of. News article, those arrows function similar to the back arrow on DU, but they have not vanished on occasion like the back arrow on DU has.

(49,044 posts)time, sometimes with more than one for posting (different new posts) -- the multiple tabs most often if I'm searching for relevant older DU posts on a subject -- and I've never run into the problems mentioned in the OP.
I'm almost always using the latest version of Windows.
