Donald Trump sharply criticized former President Barack Obama's eulogy of civil rights icon John Lewis during a Fox News interview on Wednesday morning.
"I thought it was a terrible speech. It was an angry speech," Trump said. "It showed his anger there that people don't see. He lost control and he's been really hit very hard by both sides for that speech. That speech was ridiculous."
In the eulogy at Ebenezer Baptist Church last week, Obama praised Lewis' decades of civil rights advocacy beginning when he was a young man in the civil rights movement through his tenure in Congress.
He also condemned Trump's campaign to sow doubt in the legitimacy of US elections and other efforts to suppress voting and Black Americans' civil rights. He asked Congress to pass a new Voting Rights Act in Lewis' honor, called for Election Day to become a national holiday, demanded an end to gerrymandering, and condemned police brutality against Black Americans.

I have never seen President Obama lose control and he is so well known for his calm that comedians invented the (very funny) anger interpreter sketches to poke fun of Obamas incredible composure. (Seriously, if you havent, google Obama anger interpreter and you will not be disappointed!)
On the other hand, Trump is so notoriously unable to control himself that even his own staff live in fear of whatever manure is going to spew from his anus-mouth next.

Obama was forceful, of course. He took note of the anger being felt in this country. However, as usual, the man's self control and composure were the stuff of legend.
And the words, "terrible" and "ridiculous" need only be directed back at Trump for them to become true.
In the years to come, Barack Obama will be remembered as a speaker on par with Lincoln and Churchill. Trump's verbal outgassing will be examined to trace the progress of some neurological condition. . . Maybe it will be named in Trump's honor.

(2,138 posts)I keep reading Trump "slams," " blasts, " "excoriates" (well, maybe not that one)-- verbs that make Trump seem tough, in command. The correct verb in every case is "whines". Long ago in journalism we were warned against "colorful language" that subtly editorializes -- leave that to the tabloids. Use neutral verbs like, "says", "complains," " states", "contradicts", etc. Don't impute strength or authority to the putrid little puddle of diarrhea. It just feeds its ego.
Tirade aimed at journalists; not original post. It's a real problem of political journalism.

(63,221 posts)This! Exactly! It's all whining and it just makes him look like an insecure, weak, pathetic little loser. However, that language makes him sound tough, which is exactly the opposite of what he is.
It makes me sick how they coddle him and buy into the myth-making.
