White House COVID-19 Task Force says families in Mid-South counties should cancel gatherings

https://www.wmcactionnews5.com/2020/08/06/white-house-covid-task-force-says-families-mid-south-counties-should-cancel-gatherings/

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A new warning Thursday from the White House COVID-19 Task Force regarding the ongoing spread of the virus across Tennessee and the Mid-South.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Shelby County COVID-19 Task Force says Thursday’s COVID-19 case numbers are continuing what could become a positive trend.

Shelby County and the state of Tennessee is receiving attention from the White House COVID-19 task force, who says the spread of the virus here and in surrounding counties is concerning, and they’re recommending canceling all family gatherings.

The White House COVID-19 Task Force is alarmed about continuing high COVID-19 transmission rates in 75 of Tennessee’s 95 counties.

"Families," but not churches or SCHOOLS??? WTAF?

And all of a sudden, WH is "concerned?" Like Susan Collins?

The county Memphis is in, Shelby, has terrific Dem leadership. Shelby County Schools bought laptops for all students & are 100% virtual.

But, the suburbs are another matter! 750 high schoolers in my district have opted for online only. Then the district wanted 1 parent for each of those students to attend massive, in-person meeting to sign a form.

Stupidity abounds in this region like you wouldn't believe!

One admin friend told me many parents calling high school & complaining about hybrid 2 day in-person plan. They want 5 days in-person.

Affluent burbs, where one can easily presume parents are well educated and can read (not joking!) have been protesting for 5-day, in-person classes, vs hybrid model to allow for some distancing in overflowing schools.

I guess that's why this state is red.
