This was previously found among "recovered" Covid-19 patients in Germany too!

Two German studies, published Tuesday in the peer-reviewed journal JAMA Cardiology, found heart abnormalities in COVID-19 patients months after they had already recovered from the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2.
The first study included 100 patients from the University of Hospital Frankfurt COVID-19 Registry who were relatively healthy adults in their 40s and 50s. About one-third of the patients required hospitalization, while the rest recovered from home.
Researchers looked at cardiac magnetic resonance imaging taken nearly two and a half months after they were diagnosed and compared them with images from people who never had COVID-19. The study found heart abnormalities in 78 patients, with 60 of those patients showing signs of inflammation in the heart muscle from the virus.
Do these conferences and schools want future lawsuits, or not?

(595 posts)Supposedly he doesn't have COVID but I don't trust that. I don't plan to be around anytime soon but the doctors tell him months of convalescence.

(14,856 posts)Maybe he was previously infected? Did he have an antibody test?
I hope he'll be okay!

(31,261 posts)His problem was found on an MRI. He had and had recovered from COVID19 and was ready to start the season before the precautionary MRI was done.

(14,856 posts)... the latest idiotic things said by the resident-in-chief. Not that I mind too much if it means he'll lose, but his stupidity should be an established fact by now too.

(31,261 posts)What will likely happen is some 20 year old college football star will fall dead on the field, and the autopsy will show that he had that condition and it went undetected. Then things will shutdown like a trap.
I believe that the NFL is headed for a major disaster. Their plan is to have a player testing positive sit out until he test negative. I read nothing about MRIs. MLB didnt even call for them for the Pitcher, the team physician for the team that he is signed to had the MRI done to make everyone feel better, they were looking to see that his lungs were clear and found the heart condition.

Not to mention their biggest guys might have heart issues already, carrying around all that extra weight.
If someone invents something like a mouthpiece with N100 filtration, that the players could wear pretty much constantly except for quick hydration breaks, then MAYBE it could work. It probably wouldn't even matter if they had exhalation valves for easier breathing if they all wore them.
Might as well just give up on it for now! The virus is setting the rules!

(31,261 posts)We are not going anywhere until we solve it. Even countries like New Zealand, that seem to control it, are in a box, they check everything and everyone coming into the country and are only allowing returning citizens back.

(2,893 posts)So, two more reasons to not get it!
You would rather not know about a condition that could cause you to drop dead in your tracks? You are a more brave person than I am, I want to know my risk factors. The thought of falling dead in my tracks is terrifying, not that it would matter for me at that point.

As a result of the virus, Ive had complications with my heart and I really dont know the outcome or whats in store for me in the future, Williams wrote in a message posted on Facebook. I just know that my life is more precious to me than football could ever be. Ive decided to opt out of the 2020 football season due to these complications. I wont take this year for granted. Im coming back bigger, faster and stronger than ever.
