Advisers Consider Whether Trump Can Cut Taxes Without Congress

WASHINGTON — White House officials have explored whether President Trump has the power to sidestep Congress and unilaterally cut a broad swath of taxes as the president looks for ways to inject fuel into a slumping economy, according to a senior administration official.

No.

You want to restore the economy take care of the pandemic. It's that simple.

but we all know that the "rules" will be different for President Biden.

There's no consistency to Republican opinion. Hypocrisy is their only defining feature.

ill advised 2017 tax cut and jobs bill (which it did was put money into the pockets of donors and nothing else as all can see).

I don't see how anything that the idiot could even bestow or do would be implemented on a reasonable basis...it takes programming to change IT systems, processes, etc.

I hope Congress is on top of suing the moron at every single step of the way, if anything, to (1) preserve the authority of Congress to make or replace or revoke (appeals court can revoke laws too) as well as keep the idiot from giving away the farm in his desperate attempts to stay in office and avoid being criminally charged w/ multiple crimes (he and his family, whole bunch of cronies too).

He's ignoring the pandemic as if it isn't there, and he's trying to inject fuel into an economy that is reeling from death and disease. Trump's response? Pretend that death and disease are minor glitches. It's not stupid, it's crazy-stupid.
