Father and son doctors died of the coronavirus within weeks of one another in Florida hospitals

Florida son and father — both doctors — died within weeks of one another after both were hospitalized with the coronavirus on Father's Day, The Miami Herald first reported.
The younger Dr. Vallejo had been caring for nearly 80 COVID-19 patients, many at a nursing home before he fell ill with the virus in June and spent 42 days in an ICU before his death.

His father, who died less than a week after he was hospitalized, was a retired doctor who fled to the US from Cuba with his wife in the 60s.

In total, there have been 550,901 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 8,765 deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health.

My husband got his positive Covid test results on Father's Day. I was taken to the ER the same day where I too got a positive Covid test and a chest x-ray that showed pneumonia.

We've both recovered after having only mild symptoms while we were sick. We were just lucky.

This is one gawd awful, scary disease.
