After a Romney loss in November, what will be his role in the GOP?

All logic says he'd be a pariah for screwing up what should have been an easy victory. But Sarah Palin carpet bombed the McCain campaign -- and cinched an Obama victory -- and she's treated like the de facto party leader (Tea Party, at least).

So what will he be in 2013: Hero or villain?

he doesn't 'need' the party and the party doesn't 'need' him.

I expect the same will happen for him within the GOP. But he has his money, houses, horses, etc to keep him busy. So I don't think he'll care much.

...Mitt is too platstic and too unpopular to ever make it into a Fox News stint. Unless he decides to set up his own advocacy shop (remember George Pataki? No, probably not...), he'll probably just retire and do some business Board work.
