Hello, DU...for today’s Friday Afternoon Challenge: Pt.2 of “Ready for my Closeup”!

Last week the Challenge offered Pt. 1: Sculpture. Today it is "Ready for my Closeup" Pt. 2: Other Media in which you identify the artist and work.

Actually, nobody knows where my dentist is. He just picked up and disappeared, and I'm beginning to think he didn't have a license.

all the more so if you are just joking...

You gotta wonder what the Mannerists were thinking...there's some weird stuff done by them. A couple of Fiorentino's Madonnas look deranged and Pontormo's Christ child makes me think "baby hippie on drugs."

You had to pay in cash up front at the desk and there was a sign saying that fees couldn't be discussed with the dentist.

It was... Odd.

...My internal monologue went like this: "OK, classical figure but Nubian, lots of tendrils OH MY GOD THAT'S A SNAKE ON HER BOOB." And then a light went on. Ha!

"Descent from the Cross," by van der Eyden. I thought it was a Van Eyck; otherwise I wouldn't have found it.

I took two classes on art in college: one was ancient to medieval, and the other was Italian Renaissance. The rest I've filled in for myself.
