A young man placed one foot on the street and was instantly and brutally taken down, slammed face first onto the pavement by two police in full riot gear who then wrenched his arms behind his back to handcuff before yanking him to his feet and dragging him to a paddy wagon. They virtually reacted with force immediately when one foot struck the pavement. I’m not sure he wasn’t forced off-balance by the crowd behind him and only stepped down to avoid falling into the street. The Portland police struck me as armed, militaristic thugs acting brutally and deliberately that evening. .... It’s no wonder the protests grow.
