Congress can't use the Justice dept to enforce its subpoenas. But they already have teh power to send teh Sgt at arms to arrest and they also have the power to immediately jail anyone they catch lying to congress or refusing answer a subpoena plus ignoring requests for documentation. The House should hold hearings with the Sgt at Arms standing right behind the person being interviewed. All the committee has to do is take vote for arrest / jail and off he goes.

and she always does it in that calm voice.

The way she does it is not with snark or sarcasm. She simply uses the truth which evidently is anathema to people who think they can attack her.

The "gray areas" we've seen recently have to do with what means are used to enforce subpoenas, & more specifically what means may be used by congressional committees vs a body of Congress (like the House) as a whole.

They're not worthless at all, they just need to be enforced in a legally valid way.

Because if there WAS a legally valid way to enforce them, SOMEONE would have tried to use it by now, WOULDN'T THEY????????

if they really don't have to be honoured? It only implies there might be guilt and with this lawless administration full of grifters, con men and out and out thieves of the American taxpayer money, the courts have been in trump's corner overall since he has had the power to appoint Federal Appeals Court Judges
