WOODWARD: Russians had placed malware in the election registration systems of at least 2 FL counties

🚨"Woodward reports new details on Russia's election meddling, writing that the NSA and CIA have classified evidence the Russians had placed malware in the election registration systems of at least two Florida counties, St. Lucie and Washington."

-- Woodward reports new details on Russia's election meddling, writing that the NSA and CIA have classified evidence the Russians had placed malware in the election registration systems of at least two Florida counties, St. Lucie and Washington. While there was no evidence the malware had been activated, Woodward writes, it was sophisticated and could erase voters in specific districts. The voting system vendor used by Florida was also used in states across the country.

St. Lucie county makes sense for them to try to infiltrate because the red/blue numbers are close and if it flipped red no one would raise an eyebrow, but Washington county is very red with close to twice the amount of R's than D's to even be worth messing with. The counties I would be the most worried about are Miami-Dade, Broward & Palm Beach....

Some politicians in close elections are trying to give russians the codes in all of the red states.

They don't call him Moscow Mitch for nothin'!

On Edit:

I don't know this! I only speculate based on how things seem to be going these days.

While FL has been turning more and more blue - we now have over a quarter million more registered D's than R's, even in trumpy's own Palm Beach county - it is still too close for comfort. It is still vulnerable to theft by DeSantis and Lee and it is still (always) vulnerable to Russian infiltration and manipulation.

He didn't seem to think it was important to tell anyone about Trump's lies about the virus in February.

I call BS on the concern about panic. He - trump - was trying to figure out how he could make money off of it.

I have to agree with the post that ranted about all these insiders whose books are more important than informing the public in a timely manner. To be fair, I guess, it wouldn't have mattered. trump would have claimed fake news and moved on. I so fucking exhausted.

Even though I’ve never had any problems voting here, for the 2018 election I went to the country elections site the day before I planned to vote and printed my registration information from the site, which also had a date on it, and took it with me to vote. I realize that not everyone can do this, but Democrats in key counties and states may want to do this if they can.

I wonder what states have done since 2016 to remove malware and also to beef up their security. I remember reports that the Russians had hacked the voting systems of at least 39 states. I wonder how many of those states actually searched for any hidden links that the Russians buried to allow them easy access in November.

Any idea that the machines are definitively secure is delusional.

The questions about these proprietary systems are endless. Who programs the tabulators? What are the wireless cellular modems used for? Who are the administrators for the VPN? How do we know there are no Easter eggs to multiply votes, or backwoods to flip them? Is the calibration process audited, or does the touchscreen’s buttons get scaled to make “errors“ more likely?

Invisible processes implemented by bribeable persons Outside of the public eye under the veil of “security”.

I voted by mail in the primary, and am set to receive a mail in ballot shortly. Allegedly.

I will find the closest drop box and drop it off myself. I can't trust USPS. Trumpers work for the USPS, too, and I don't trust them for a second. Lying, cheating and stealing IS WHAT THEY DO.

We are up shit creek. The only people who can do something about it is Congress, and the Democratic Party establishment, by passing enforceable legislation that makes people afraid to mess with the election. Yes, I know elections are run by the states, but there HAS TO BE options at a federal level that can be taken.

Jail time and huge fines for those who tamper with a democratic election, and BIG REWARDS for those who report it.

Then DO it.

I still have hope. Yet they seem to have covered all their bases, and the Congress and the Dem establishment seem helpless. I am hoping the covid situation will do him in. But we have been saying that about every outrage he has foisted on us, and he is still there.

After it is over, if we can ascertain that we won by HUGE numbers, yet the votes and the ballots don't reflect it, we better be prepared to address it. We should also be prepared to NOT accept the electoral college result. Having the electoral college give the presidency to the candidate who lost the popular vote in 3 out of the last 4 elections is unacceptable. We need to get back to the one person = one vote concept. We either have it, or we don't. If we don't, then THAT needs to be addressed.

Letting a small minority of cheating, lying, racist bigots take over this country like it is THEIRS, and piss all over the very foundation it is built on, is not an option. Shit is gonna get REALLY UGLY.

There are only two sides here. There is no middle ground. If one is not going to be a part of the solution, then one is obviously part of the problem.
