Nikki Fried's warning: Donald Trump is making inroads with Jewish voters

Florida’s only Democratic elected statewide made a strong case Thursday night that Democrats must stand by Israel as Republicans in Florida make serious plays for the Jewish vote.

Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, addressing the Jewish Democratic Council of America, noted that Republicans are making a strong play to represent as the pro-Israel party, and are making inroads with Jewish voters with aggressive messaging that is taking root in Florida and the Middle East itself.

“They’re trying to get the Jewish vote in the state of Florida,” Fried said on a Thursday evening Zoom call. “DeSantis has been trying to say ‘Trump is the best President for the state of Israel.'”

“And the state of Israel, and the people who are there, sometimes they believe it,” she continued. “You walk around and they’ve got yarmulkes with Trump on [them.] They’re naming settlements after Trump.”

“And so they’re trying to get into our Jewish community,” Fried said. “Trying to say that not only has Trump been so good for Israel, but also trying to make us doubt where the Democrats are. Trying to say that the Democratic Party now is pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli.”

Israel's current government has made it abundantly clear which party they are behind, and its not the Democratic Party. Frankly, they should be worried about the future of democracy in Israel, as well as the U.S, if Bibi continues to get to run things.

Most Jews are for Biden.
Trump is probably making promises that Israel will absorb all of Palestine - Trump kosher hotels in Gaza.

Remember who killed Rabin; hint - it wasn't an Arab.

Yeah, there’s some Republicans Jews, but we go for Democrats, usually hovering around 78%. I don’t have any loyalty to Israel or any other country. I gotta live here.

The old stereotype of American Jews being socialist on all matters America but to the right of Genghis Khan on all matters Israel is dying out. Younger generations rather explicitly reject that kind of political thinking.

But in Florida there may still be enough of the Sheldon Adelson generation left to give the GOP an opening.
