You have got to be shitting me...

(CBS News) Republican nominee Mitt Romney said Tuesday that Democratic politicians have a conflict of interest in dealing with teacher unions because the unions contribute so heavily to their campaigns. He suggested that money should somehow be diverted or cut off, although he did not offer details.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57520009-503544/romney-teacher-contributions-to-politicians-should-be-limited/

Yes mitt... It's the Teachers that have too much money influence in our polotics... Fucking asshole.

The only reason that Adelson has given untold millions to Mitt's campaign--is because he wants a war with Iran. In effect, Adelson is buying a war--by funneling money to a presidential candidate who will give him that war--in return for those generous campaign donations.

Now, THAT is sick.

They keep reviving old dead scare issues because they have no cirrent issues to discuss that wu ill help them. The repubs are a dying party, and all their cheating has not helped them.

I also have several family members of the newer generation, mainly cousins, who are teachers. Some of these cousins are staunchly in favor of rMoney, and they are unaware of his hateful, arrogant, ignorant stance towards teachers and public education in general. They're mainly brainwashed by his claim of piety and devoutness (gag). I'm doing my very best to show them what he is really like, especially in regards to education and teachers, and so is my mother, who devoted her life to teaching, got little in return for it, and who is doing everything in her power to make it known what he's really like. Problem is, I'm not sure we'll get through to them before election day. I do NOT understand any teacher who could take a look at his true nature regarding education and teachers and still vote for him, I just don't.

He could start by pointing out how ridiculous his singling out of the teachers is, as has been done on this thread. Then he could thank Mitt for bringing up the subject and say he is looking forward to working with him after the next election on fighting for a limited public allowance for both candidates and a bill to void the Citizens United ruling so that ALL outside influence is curtailed or limited as well.

Put Mitt on the spot like that in one of the debates, if he brings it up. If Obama could ever accomplish pushing through public financing in his final term to go along with his health care plan....he'd go down in history rivaling FDR.

This has been a difficult year and a half for teachers in my state. Your responses buoyed my spirits. Thanks for that.

Corporations should have their corporate welfare cut off, as they donate far more money to RapeubliCON campaigns than teachers and unions donate toward Democratic campaigns!

80. He (Mitt) in this interview also made reference to Federal Teachers Unions.............

There are no Federal Teachers Unions. Teachers Unions are at the local and state level, with either the ATF or NEA being the national union.

He also made reference to the fact that local teachers unions bankroll the campaigns of those sitting on the school boards. Maybe someone should remind him of the school board campaigns that were bankrolled by the Koch Brothers. There was one school district in Georgia that was taken over by nitwits bankrolled by the Kochs and they segregated schools, by taking away buses & a whole bunch of other crap.

He should stop talking about what he doesn't understand.

There is something essentially evil about that quote.

Seems to me, anyway.

This is the real reason they attack welfare recipients, public servants, teachers etc. They think they're cutting into the Democratic base. I guess they feel they can win angry people over by working on their fears and prejudices.
