It doesn't seem to have done Meekhead much good to have gone Hollywood with the platinum blonde hair, the new boobs, the F_ Me heels.....she seems to be listened to even less now than before.
They were discussing how poorly Rmoney is doing in the polls....then Meekhead mentions that "legitimate rape" Akin is losing in Missouri, according to the polls. He brushed that comment aside, "we're talking about the presidential race...that's not related." Meekhead has the audacity to mention it again! Joe Scabby raises his voice and loses his cool, "WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE. THE AKIN MISSOURI RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. MOVE ON." She slips in the comment, "It's related," as she moves on to discuss the graphic of the presidential race polls.
His ego is getting uncontrollable. A couple of years ago he actually raised his voice to her, "THIS IS MY SHOW!" when she said something he didn't want her to say.
And Meekhead? She's a second banana...that's her job. But how sad that she is in a position to make a difference, but she doesn't.

(37,648 posts)a nice man who'd Joe would hire to run a business for him, but the worst politician ever.
But of COURSE all the races are related. The smaller races run on the coattails of the presidential race, to some extent.

(3,586 posts)I used to watch the show. I sort of can't blame DUers for wanting to watch it. After all, we are political junkies & they talk politics. What else are you going to watch at that time of day? The pablum that is The Today Show? Local newscasts that repeat the same stories every 15 minutes or that often have a conservative slant when they do cover politics? In the "olden days" it also used to be a factor that in the morning, many people tended to watch the channel that was last on when they turned the TV off the night before. For many DUers, that is probably MSNBC, though this effect has largely gone by the wayside with the advent of the remote control.
But Joe and many of his guests make my blood boil. I quit watching a couple of years ago when I got a DVR. I watch Stewart and/or Colbert in the mornings, and I am much happier for it.
From what I recall, Joe thinks that liberal bloggers post while eating Cheetos in their parents' basements. But I would bet that if DUers stopped watching, there would be a noticeable decline in his ratings.

(1,675 posts)Usually I can only stand 2 minutes as a time and that is only to know what the opposition is thinking but since Romney has been in free-fall it has been fun to watch Joey boy writhe in the morning.
Mika disgusts me and is a total disgrace to women in the news industry. She sits there pouting and presenting herself as overtly sexual like a Hooters waitress trying to get a higher tip. And the shots in between segments are pure cheesecake and I have never seen a serious news woman do anything like that.

(37,648 posts)I am guessing - and it's just a guess - that some handlers got hold of her. It was mentioned on the show the other day that so and so was responsible for the "Mike hair," and Mika commented how people are always stopping her to say they love her hair and hairdo. So that leads me to think she was made over to be more presentable...a hair guy, a dresser/fashion stylist, a shoes gal, a personal trainer, a doctor for the cosmetic surgery.....
I'm not against trying to look as good as possible, but it went off in this Hooters direction (perfect description) that was unexpected and, IMO, inappropriate for someone wanting to be taken seriously as a commentator of current events with an emphasis on politics.

(1,675 posts)but the problem with Mika is she is putting herself in these submissive poses that frankly seem a little S&M to me.
I think we should start referring to her as the "Hooters waitress" with low self esteem.
She seems to want to be taken seriously but Joe Scarborough treats her like comic relief or an annoying distraction and without any kind of professional air she cant be anything else.

(5,842 posts)to the Today show I wonder how much longer Mika will stick around. Can't see her putting up with the living ego of Joe S. if something better comes along.

(37,648 posts)You know, he gets paid more than Meekhead, I'm pretty sure.
Interesting that HE'S the one who gets an offer, and not Meekhead, who is more experienced. As James Brown sang....
