Note to all readers here at DU - Presidential elections are not won by popularity contests...

except for 2000 when it was a popularity contest of 9 judges.

Focus on the electoral votes and how we are doing in various states. The press will keep pushing national polls simply to make people feel that the race is somehow still close. An election blowout will hurt with ratings for these News Channels.

That doesn't mean we should sit back on our lead for the next 6 weeks but we need alot of hard work to make sure we keep the Senate and reclaim the House.

Here's something you should think about - The money & power of the GOP WANTS you to focus all your effort on Obama. To them that will be a big win because personally none of these people give a rats ass about Romney. If they did they would have never allowed that convention to fall to pieces and they would have brought in troubleshooters to help get the campaign back on track after the convention. Mitt is pretty much doing his own thing now. The GOP want to increase their hold on the house and reclaim the senate in hopes of having control of Congress and basically roadblock Obama the next 4 years until 2016 when they can get a better candidate running for the GOP. This is what the GOP did in 1996 and they are doing it again.

So please keep your push on supporting Obama but find a local congressional or senate race and help make a difference there too!
