My brother in MA hates Elizabeth Warren BEYOND reason

I just have to share this bizarre argument I keep having my brother who lives in MA

First. I posted the video of Scott Brown's scum bags and the tomahawk chops and war cries and I said "keeping it classy Scott"

to which he replied:

Brother:
To be fair you don't live in Mass. Second she lied about her heritage to take advantage of the system. When Warren was asked what do with the employees that did it she said he should take drastic measures but she would keep them in the same position. Plus if you look a her actual records she helps big business more then helps. Not what she claims.

Me:
I don't have to live in Ma to read. I am not interested in her heritage, and I will take her record and what she will do for this country over Scott Brown any day of the week. I only wish I COULD vote for her.

Brother:
You can read sure but your comments are not needed. You can't vote here so no need to worry. Her integrity is in question. She lied to take advantage of a system that could have gone to someone who actually had the background. Why didn't she answer the questions for months if this wasn't a issue? Because her people had to figure out what spin on damage control they can put on it. As for her record, what her not helping small business record? Not helping local? Not a great way to be. This is from Boston.com
The comments came as news surfaced that Warren had been paid $10,000 in 1995 to help LTV Steel write a petition to the US Supreme Court to avoid paying into a fund that provided health care to retired coal miners. Brown also upped his criticism of Warren for representing Travelers Insurance in a separate case in which she was fighting to unlock a settlement fund for asbestos victims in exchange for immunity from future lawsuits.
So yea....so much for that.

Me:
You know what, you are part native american but can I prove it with paperwork-no. Why don't you tell me what about Scott Brown's record makes him superior.

1st: On June 4, 2012, Scott Brown along with his fellow Republicans voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act (this bill’s aim was to reduce the income disparity between men and women in the workplace). This would appear to me to be a vote against women.

2nd: Scott is also in favor of the Blunt Amendment (this would allow any employer to refuse to cover any kind of health care choice for its employees by citing “moral issues”). This would deny women access to birth control, in vitro fertilization, family planning, etc., if their employer objects. To me, this is another decision to deny access to a woman’s choice in medical care.

3rd: Scott, in March 2012, also voted against a bill introduced in the Senate to end tax subsidies for big oil and gas companies.

4th: Scott is also in favor of making the Bush-era tax cuts permanent; this is including tax cuts for those earning over $250,000 a year.

5th: Scott strongly opposes the Health Care Act and wants to repeal it — this act reduced the cost of prescriptions for our seniors and gave those people with pre-existing conditions a chance to finally get health insurance. If this act is repealed, which is what Scott wants, seniors will end up paying a higher cost for their prescriptions and those people with pre-existing health problems will be on their own.

Is this fair? Scott wants to continue subsidies to oil an gas companies and give tax breaks to those earning over $250,000 a year, yet wants to increase the amount seniors will then have to pay for prescriptions and leave people with pre-existing conditions without necessary health care.

Brother:

Stop repeating Elizabeth's misleading commercials. You can assume your heritage in any way you want but facts are facts and cannot be contested. Have your read the complete bill. A lot of times they have amendments attached.

Me:
I am looking at Scott Brown's voting record. His votes are what is important. Nothing else matters. I am concerned about the impact on the young women of this country and someone who has voted against women's issues like Scott Brown is not good for women.

So when I press him on Scott Brown's voting record he is refusing to talk to me now because I am so stubborn and "need to be right" there is no point!!!!!!!!

is irrelevant his presence in the Senate is more of a concern for ALL Americans and her heritage is not part of her campaign platform.

When you don't have truth on your side all you have left is lies and distortion.

i don't think it is bizarre, and I think it is invaluable to see the arguments, which you have recreated very well.

He's coming from one of those gut-reactions (literally!) that the RW is so good at conditioning into their disciples, and is using his "reasoning" capacities for no purpose other than to defend the forgone conclusions that he derives from his emotional conditioning.

In my experience, almost every "discussion" with a locked-in RW type goes the same way. Deny, dodge, diminish, deflect, disparage.

and will likely get to keep it after the election. Republicans hate the way the world works and try to destroy it. When they get elected, they do. When they go apeshit against people like Obama and Clinton, then relax, all is right with the world.

You could ask your brother to put one of his ideas into a complete sentence. That might encourage him to think about the logic of what he is saying, rather than just the emotional feel of it . . .

"Plus if you look a her actual records she helps big business more then helps. Not what she claims. "

?? what does that mean ??

Romney's leadership was not pretty. The rest of the nation talks about how Romney brought health reform to Massachusetts. The fact is Romney left a failing plan that Governor Deval Patrick changed, saved and made work exceptionally.

Your brother is choosing to stick his head in the sand about Scott Brown's record. Pray that you brother has no daughter and has no influence on his nieces because Scott Brown votes to have their lives subscribed back to the fifties.

I apologize to you for writing this. But your brother appears to be the type of uninformed loser that spend their entire day, it seems, on blogs writing angry, fact challenged screeds. Their lives are filled with paranoia and under the surface, their own fear that they don't measure up. If lucky, they will work in jobs that require some skill, but they get told what to do daily by bosses.

He's basing his vote for a REPUBLICAN on Integrity? Tell him no elected official has ANY integrity (maybe not entirely true, but it plays to republican biases). They are all prostitutes for campaign contributions. Ask him what THIS CONgress has done for us any why ANY of them deserve to be reelected?

Not that it will matter, he is clearly in the thrall of FAUX/Rush/etc.
