or ABC or any other news show. They say Mr. Obama too. Just like they said Mr. Bush.

This is not that big of a deal.

Generally you say President in the first mention and then Mister in subsequent mentions.

I remember the wingnuts bitching about the same thing. It's not disrespectful.

I've been around for a long time, and it's my impression that calling the President Mr. with his last name has been very common practice in the media and in Congress for as long as I can remember. I do not see it as disrespectful

I was informed that the accepted initial reference is "President" and subsequent references can be "Mister".
Whatever.
I still don't like it.

It's always been routine to refer to President X on first mention and then Mr. X after that.

If you were alive and literate in English in the years 2001-2009, and if you regularly read the "MSM" (corporate media) coverage of US politics, then you saw "Mr. Bush" thousands of times. So either you never read the "MSM" during that time, or you should seek medical advice about the memory loss. Sorry.
