NOT 'Over Confident'...FINALLY Confident!

I am getting pretty excited about November. I honestly never expected to be. I expected this entire Fall to be a nail biting, stomach churning, Obama-defending nightmare.

I gotta tell you, this is WAY better.

And for all those people who are worried that we are 'over confident'...isn't it nice for a change? We have spent the past 20 years being the underdogs. We have spent 20 years in which 'liberal' was a dirty word. I have had to sit back and watch while the lowest common denominators in human behavior became a major rival party platform. I am tired of Democratic politicians acting as if they felt like they needed to apologize for being a Democrat!

Over the years, Democrats have become master handwringers. We are experts on worrying. We have come to view 'compromises' where we got a fraction of our policies pushed through while we gave up what we hold dearest as victories. Basically, since the Republican freshman class of '94, Democrats have been getting by on the scraps tossed to us by the GOP.

Well, I am DONE. Win, lose or draw, I am sick of being told that being confident is a BAD thing. We have a brilliant candidate who has done remarkable things for this country. We have a platform that respects EVERY person in this country, not just rich white guys. We have a party that, though not perfect, crammed the very first national health care initiative through Congress. We have something to be proud of and confident about!

Just because we are confident does not mean that anybody stays home on election day. Just because we are confident doesn't mean that we stop beating the drum for Obama. Just because we are confident does not mean that we take our eye off the prize. Confidence does not make us weaker or more vulnerable. Confidence makes us STRONGER!

So, I say let's get out there and KICK SOME REPUBLICAN ASS!! All you have is $5? Find a down ticket candidate who desperately needs every dime to defeat one of those psychopaths and send it to them. Every dollar counts. If you an't afford a yard sign, MAKE ONE and stick it in your yard. Sign up to make some phone calls...you can do it from your house and its FREE!

Enjoy being confident and let your confidence fuel the biggest upset in political history. I am so confident, I don't want to just win; I want to win by a LANDSLIDE!!

Agree.

When Republicans are confident, it's either to suppress Democratic ethusiasm/turnout or a sign the Republicans are winning.

When Democrats are confident, it's cockiness and complacency.

I stopped calling myself a Democrat because they were weak & wouldn't properly stand up to the Republicans.

I come to this board & there's so much worrywarting going on all the time.
People are so shook from Bush's crooked election steals that they spend all their time on Doom & Gloom Street.

All of this comes from the Democratic Party's weakness.
It makes their followers weak.
The modern-day Republicans have NEVER been a hard party to defeat.
We were sabotaged by the bigots after the 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed.
That's the fuel which allowed the Republican Party—by then long married to the Greedy Rich Elite—to survive all the Progress done since Franklin Roosevelt transformed the Democratic Party.
That bigoted voting block is the only thing keeping their plans to shirk their national responsibilities alive.

The Republican Party has just become a haven for the bigoted regressive dinosaurs who are frightened of the NEEDED change that must happen in this country.
If the Democrats fought even a little, that shell of a party would have crumbled years ago.

There's a reason why Obama won in 2008.
That was a giant message for the future of the country.
He WAS & IS a History-Making Game-Changing President.
He's transforming the country without even really tapping into his power.
Imagine what can happen once he fully unleashes.

When the Democrats stand strong as the political force for Social & Economic Justice, there's no chance in HELL they can lose.
Don't apologize for taking this stance.
It is the MORAL stance. It is the RIGHTEOUS stance.
The party that backs the righteous cause will survive.
The party that doesn't will eventually wither into nothingness.

After 1964 the Republican Party backed a bunch of unrighteous bigots.
That was their Deal With The Devil & it was ALWAYS going to doom them to extinction.
The Democratic Party was headed in this direction until FDR transformed that former slaveowning party of the South into what we saw from the 1930s to 1960s.
When the Democrats eased back from that transformation, they suffered for it.
They were letting the bigots within the Republican Party win & the country suffered.
They compromised with evil & George W. Bush stole 2 elections from them.

The Third Way is DEAD.
Now it is time for the First Way, the ONLY Way to reemerge. That way which stood for the Second Bill of Rights.
Those who once called themselves Republicans will Change as the country moves Forward.
They called it Reagan Democrats, right? Well what about Obama Republicans?

Mitt's 47% video represents the REAL Republican Party. The Rich Guys who don't believe in sharing & promoting the common good.
These Elites use the energy of those numerous bigots to pass laws that absolve them of their responsibilities to the nation where they received their abundance.
What's so hard to defeat about this?
Why are you so scared of these guys?
Elite means Few if you ever forget.

It doesn't take much as you can see.
They are easy to defeat & always have been.
All there is to do is just to do it.
No More Weakness.
John Lucas

voter suppression and intimidation ...

rigged electronic voting machines ...

Citizens United ...

the mainstream media, which they own ...

etc.

No, I'm not confident. I'm damned scared. We must remain vigilant, keep working hard and make sure folks on our side are registered and actually vote!! If the Repukes manage to steal this election our democracy will be a faded memory.l
